Advice: simple tricks for headaches
For headaches, many people inevitably use medicines such as ibuprofen, aspirin or paracetamol, but in many cases simple home remedies for headaches can have a similarly good effect. Coffee with lemon, lemon balm, ginger, vegetable juice or apple cider vinegar are known here as proven home remedies in naturopathy.
The use of painkillers for headaches can often be avoided with the help of relatively simple tricks, but the complaints can also be based on serious illnesses, which is why a medical examination is urgently recommended if they occur repeatedly. Headaches that are not due to serious illnesses can be successfully treated with various internal and external home remedies.
Coffee with lemon
Coffee with lemon, for example, stimulates blood flow to the brain and in many cases helps to relieve the headache. Applying a few drops of lemon balm to a piece of sugar and taking it can also work against the headache. A tea made from fresh ginger or vegetable juices made from carrots, cucumbers and beetroot often have a soothing effect. In addition, two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar can be mixed in a glass of water and drunk as an internal home remedy for headaches.
Neck massage and warmth
On the outside, for example, a neck massage - possibly with the additional use of essential peppermint oil - promises significant relief from tension headaches that often occur after a long day in front of the computer in the office. In addition, heat helps against headaches caused by tension in the neck area. A warmed cherry stone pillow or a hot water bottle loosens the tense muscles and thus alleviates the tension headache. A full bath, which may be enriched with a few drops of lavender essential oil, can also help to relax the muscles. (fp)
