Enjoy strawberries in a cake, smoothie or pure
When the strawberry season begins here in May, the delicious fruit is omnipresent again. Whether pure, sweetened, in cake, ice cream, shake or smoothie - strawberries are extremely popular. The dpa news agency is presenting a delicious recipe for crumble cake with strawberries to mark the upcoming strawberry season.
Crumble cake gets a fruity note through aromatic strawberries
It takes about 20 minutes to prepare the crumble cake with strawberries. The baking and resting time is another 50 minutes.
For the dough, 225 grams of flour, 150 grams of butter, 75 grams of sugar and two proteins are required for four people. The crumbles are prepared from 150 grams of flour, 150 grams of sugar and 100 grams of butter. The filling consists of 500 grams of fresh strawberries, 400 grams of cream, a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of vanilla pulp.
First the dough is prepared. All ingredients are kneaded as quickly as possible. The finished dough is then wrapped in foil and placed in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, all the ingredients for the crumble are mixed and crumbled into flakes with your fingers.
Meanwhile, the oven should be preheated to 180 degrees (top / bottom heat). Then the dough is rolled out between two pieces of film on the baking sheet lined with baking paper to form a very thin rectangle. The film is then removed. After the crumbs have been spread on the dough, the cake is baked golden yellow on the middle rail for about 20 minutes.
In the next step, the part plate, which is still warm, is cut in half. One half is divided into strips and should then cool down. In the meantime, the strawberries are washed, stripped of green and cut into quarters or slices. Then sugar and vanilla pulp are added to the cream. Half of the whipped cream is then spread over the uncut floor. Then the strawberries are spread on top and covered with the remaining cream. The last layer is the cake strips, which are placed on the cream.
The crumble cake with strawberries should be eaten as freshly as possible.
Strawberries are healthy and low in calories
The aromatic fruits are not only tasty, they are also very healthy and good for the slim line. They only contain about 32 kilocalories per hundred grams. They also have a high content of fiber such as pectins and cellulose, which stimulate digestion. Strawberries are also extremely rich in vitamins. The vitamin C content of the popular fruits is higher than that of lemons. A bowl of strawberries (200 grams) covers an adult's daily requirements. The fruit also contains folic acid, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and copper as well as so-called polyphenols.
