The new anti-cancer diet ”has been published in its third edition
26.08.2014

Just two years after the compact edition was first published, the third edition of the bestselling guide book "The new anti-cancer diet - How to stop the cancer gene" by Dr. rer. nat. Johannes F. Coy. Confirmed by current international studies, the tumor biologist explains: "You cannot starve cancer cells in general, but you can change your metabolism by briefly changing your diet for three days before starting therapy so that the effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy increases and the chances of recovery become clear improve."

The diagnosis of cancer is initially a shock for everyone. However, with a ketogenic diet in the acute phase of chemotherapy or radiation therapy, i.e. strictly avoiding carbohydrates, everyone can actively contribute to supporting their individual tumor treatment and thus defeating the cancer gene. As part of his research at the renowned German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Coy discovered the TKTL1 gene, which enables a metabolism that protects both healthy cells and tumor cells from damage. In the compact version of the guidebook "The New Anti-Cancer Diet" he describes his concept of breaking through the protective shield of the tumor cells with the help of a consistent changeover to a ketogenic diet that only lasts a few days, in order to actively promote the healing success through radiation and chemotherapy to increase. Only with a standardized drinking food like the keto drink is it practically possible to achieve a short-term ketogenic metabolism in the body in preparation for the acute therapy phase and thus significantly increase the effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy.

The recommendations for aftercare are different. After successful cancer therapy, the risk of recurrence can be greatly reduced through diet; this has been shown by studies in breast cancer and colon cancer patients. No ketogenic diet is necessary for this. Carbohydrates should only be reduced or foods with a low glycemic index should be preferred.

With the help of a detailed nutritional plan and a traffic light system, the cancer researcher Coy also shows clearly and easily understandable which foods support the further healing process and which promote the growth of cancer cells and should therefore be avoided. More than 60 prescriptions help you as a patient in the aftercare to reduce carbohydrates, but still eat a varied and enjoyable diet.

In general, even for healthy people, moderate carbohydrate consumption with a low glycemic index is recommended, since this not only reduces the development of tumors but also the risk of other diseases of civilization such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and Alzheimer's.
